IH CPD MAY - Lucía Arocena
Celebrating reading

Having a dedicated reading area in the classroom encourages independent learning and can certainly spark a passion for reading. In order to cater for students’ different interests and reading skills, a classroom reading corner should be able to offer attractive books that present a wide range of topics at the right level.
If we are really trying to have lifelong readers, we simply cannot go by that approach where every student is going to produce and be engaged at the same level at the same time. What if we could dynamically match students to digital books aligned to their interests and competence in L2? Is it really possible to meet every child at the proper level of challenge?
In this session, we will go over the benefits of having a virtual library such as myON, where learners own their own growth. Together, we will explore how to promote engagement and foster success by giving our students the power of choice.
